It was another successful year for Castle Douglas High School at the Dumfries and Galloway Schools Regional Choreography competition. Four teams from the school were entered into the event which takes place annually at DGOne in Dumfries. The Castle Douglas dancers fought off competition from schools around the region, showcasing their talents to songs by artists such as Beyonce, Katy Perry and Will.I.Am. The routines were meticulously planned and executed and the judges commented on the outstanding choreography, timing, and complexity of the routines. Each dance group had developed their own theme and story for their dance: army, Charleston and nightmares to name a few. At the end of the evening, the judges awarded 2nd place to Nightmare and 3rd place to the Army Girls in the junior competition while the senior girls managed to scoop 3rd place with their complex and technical routine to Katy Perry’s Dark Horse.
Head Teacher Gerry Donnelly said, "The girls routines were incredibly creative and exciting to watch and they put in an enormous amount of time in preparation for the competition. I am delighted their efforts and imagination have been rewarded at a regional level."
