Once again Castle Douglas High School pupils and staff came together to produce a lively and colourful musical. "Bugsy Malone" ran at the Fullarton Theatre in Castle Douglas for four sell-out performances where the capacity crowd were treated to an excellent show.

Ciaras Wyatt was the eponymous hero, ably supported by a talented cast. The show as able to eb double cast, due to the tremendous wealth of talent in the school: Amber Scott and Bethan Murray doubled as Blousy Brown, as did Poppy Drysdale and Michael Syme as Fizzy and Chiara McMorran and Eve Francis as Tallulah. There was drama, comedy and a huge chorus of pupils to bring it all to life. HIghlight for many of the young people involved was the chance to let loose with custrad pies and splurge guns!

The show was directed by Miss Tingle, the music provided by Mr Huxtable, Miss Guthrie, Mrs Riley, Mrs Sanderson and a band consisting of pupils and former pupils. Miss Beattie had choreographed the entire show while the amazing costumes were the responsibility of Mrs Thomson.

The school is very grateful to the Fullarton Theatre for working in partnership to make this show such a success.
